Electronics and Systems Engineer
About the role:
The Electronics and Systems Engineer will be involved in the design and development of high quality products for the hygiene industries, these products will both be new developments and in market modifications.
The role required understanding the principles of embedded software ideally able to programme in C/C+ (STM32, ESP32) with experience of real time embedded systems. The Electronics and Systems Engineer will be able to create electronics schematics and trouble shoot both hardware and software. Ideally able to develop circuit board designs in Altium and Eagle.
The Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed project documentation including requirements and specification documentation.
A large part of the responsibility of the engineer is to perform functional testing of hardware and software creating methodical test reports. The Engineer will be the first line of support for issues in production.

Key areas of responsibility
- Support project administration for both in market and new product development projects ensuring projects are completed both on time and to budget.
- Support hardware and firmware FMEA
- Developing validation test for electronics, firmware and software
- Organise tasks and assign priorities so that they are completed on time.
- Ensure all designs are suitable for manufacture and are produced cost effectively.
- Undertake product testing required by the design and development department, issue reports and verify testing undertaken.
- Support the Quality Assurance team with fault finding on product returns or quality issues.
- Support product where necessary in design undertaking tasks with sales and marketing to ensure a smooth transition from design to manufacture to sales.
- Assist with providing compliance testing and documentation for the products

- Fusion 360, Eagle, Altium
- Evaluating new electrical and electronic product samples for compliance to UK and EU conformity standards and Directives
- Proficient in fault finding to component level
- Test report writingÂ
- PCB layout and schematics understanding
- Electronic design and fault finding experience
- Familiarity with various testing techniques
- Fault Trend Analysis
- Ability to analyze test results to identify failures
- Ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines
- Operation of electronic test equipment oscilloscopes, multimeters, oscilloscopes etc..
- Writing various Test plans

- Experience of working in a quality, design environment

- Electronics Qualifications (HND / HNC in electronics or City and Guilds 224 or higher).
- BSC or HNC in a related subject
- Design & development exposure
- ESP32
- Experience and good practice knowledge in FMEA
- Familiarity with and/or experience of Quality Management Systems
- Familiarity with and/or experience of working within ISO9001/14001/45001 certified organisation’s
- Demonstrable competence in PPS (practical problem solving)
