Key areas of responsibility
- Manage and support the Quality Control (QC) Team on day-to-day technical, operational, investigation, root cause analysis and reporting.
- Ensure that all product ordered is fit for purpose, consistent and meets both internal standards and specification, but also the expectations of our customers.
- Represent the QSHE team on various continuous improvement and root cause analysis projects and initiatives.
- Work with the day-to-day production and mould shop teams to ensure QC tasks are completed within the allocated timescale and best utilisation of assets.
- Conduct ISIR on components as requested by QA engineer.
- Perform moulding checks as per documentation and technical drawings using various tools and CMM machines.
- Liaise with production on any quality issues that arise and agree actions to move forward, maintaining written records outlining decisions and action agreed.
- Undertake any ad-hoc projects as requested and any other associated tasks that are deemed reasonable.
- Work within a matrix structure that supports the bespoke Projects Teams with New Product Development (NPD) and the Quality Team for In Market (IM) products and improvements
- Own, deliver and maintain the Quality elements of the project RACI matrix deliverables during the project lifecycle
- Driving the successful implementation and evolution of the quality tools and industry best practice throughout the project lifecycle
- Troubleshoot in a timely fashion and suggest fixes and improvements
- Develop and implement quality tools (FMEA, Quality Control Plans, APQP)
- Support interpretation and test defect monitoring of project DFMEA, PFMEA, DVPR
- Understand and interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, technical manuals
- Support, review and conduct performance analysis on test results that detects issues and tracks root cause actions
- Participate in the supplier selection process and component specification reviews to ensure that purchased items meet specifications
- Support and monitor field trials, manage the tracking and analyses of field trial returns to determine root causes and improvements with the project team
- Effectively communicate and reinforce business commitment to quality improvement efforts
- Apply and comply with HSE requirements
- Seek, introduce, and adopt best practice solutions across the projects
- Motivate and integrate project teams into all aspects of quality tools and their benefits
- Perform duties in accordance with quality, safety and environmental management system requirements and any other requirements needed by the businessConducting and coordination of goods inwards inspection (GI)
Skill set of the role:
Essential
- Qualifications in Quality subjects
- Experienced in NPD
- Experience of working in a matrix structure
- Exposure to quality and or testing environments
- Knowledge of electronics within manufacturing
- Experienced in developing and implementing FMEA, Quality and Control Plans
- Ability to analyse test results to identify failures
- Fault Trend Analysis
- Excellent work accuracy and attention to details
- Ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines
- Understanding of product testing methodologies & MSA (measurement systems analysis)
- Good IT skills (experience in using Microsoft
- Excel, Outlook & Word)
- Able to manage multiple projects at once
